The Privacy Policy describes how Stella Nova Psychology, Inc. (“the Company,” ”us,” “we,” and “our”), collect, store, use and disclose personal information about you. This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect or receive when you visit or use our website found at https://stellanovapsych.com/ (“Site”); interact with applications on third-party websites or our advertising, if those applications or advertising include links to this Privacy Policy; or otherwise interact with us online. It does not apply to information collected offline and in person at events or clinical appointments, or through social media.
By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your only choice is not to use our Site. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. Your continued use of this Site after we make changes is deemed to be your acceptance of those changes, so please check the Privacy Policy periodically for updates.
Establishing a Client-Therapist Relationship
Submitting information through this Site or by email does not establish a client-therapist relationship and should not be used for emergency communication. The only way to establish a client-therapist relationship with the Company’s staff members is by completing and signing Company-provided intake paperwork.
This Site is Not Intended for Minors
Our Site is not intended for use by minors, and specifically not for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store any personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on this Site, or on or through any of its features/functionality, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. If we become aware that we have collected or stored personal information from an individual under age 13, we will remove his or her personal information from our files. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we may have inadvertently collected personal information from your child, please notify us by sending an email to hello@stellanovapsych.com.
What is Considered Personal Information?
Personal information refers to information by which you may be personally identified, such as your name, address, email address, geographic location, purchase history, and credit card information.
It does not include information that is about you but individually does not identify you, such as your annual revenue, gender, certain demographic information. This type of information may be collected and anonymized as statistical data.
What Information Do We Collect?
We collect several types of information from and about users of our Site, including log data, device data, and Personal Information (as described above).
When you visit our Site, our servers may automatically log the standard data provided by your web browser. It may include your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, your browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on each page, and other details. This is, collectively, known as log data.
We may also automatically collect data about the device you’re using to access our Site. This data may include the device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, device settings, and location data. What we collect depends on the individual settings of your device and software. This is, collectively, known as device data.
How Do We Collect Data?
Information We Collect Automatically
As you navigate through and interact with our Site, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns, as described above. The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include cookies, flash cookies, or web beacons:
- Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Site. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our Site;
- Flash Cookies. Certain features of our Site may use local stored objects (or Flash cookies) to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from and on our Site. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings as are used for browser cookies; and/or
- Web Beacons. Pages of the Site, and our emails, may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs. pixel tags and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages, or opened an email, and for other related Site statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain Site content and verifying system and server integrity).
The information we collect automatically is statistical data and does not include Personal Information, but we may maintain it for any of the reasons listed in this Privacy Policy.
Information You Provide Directly to Us
The information we collect on or through our Site may include:
- Information that you provide by filling in forms on our Site. This includes information provided when utilizing the “contact us” function or when subscribing to our newsletter.
- If we ask you for information if you report a problem with our Site; and/or
- Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us.
Information Provided to Us by Third Parties
If we receive Personal Information about you from a third party (for example, any third-party application that we use), we will protect it as set out in this Privacy Policy. If you are a third party providing Personal Information about somebody else, you represent and warrant that you have such person’s consent to provide the Personal Information to us.
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers have a “do not track” feature. This feature lets you tell websites you visit that you do not want them to track your online activity. These features are not yet uniform across browsers. Marketing Communications
Under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 (“ECPA”) and related U.S. marketing email regulations such as the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, we may send you marketing communications from us if (i) you made a purchase or asked for information from us about our goods or services or (ii) you agreed to receive marketing communications and in each case you have not opted out of receiving such communications since then. In compliance with the U.S. Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 and the CAN-SPAM Act, you have the right to opt out of marketing emails from us at any time.
You can unsubscribe from our marketing communications by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email, or by sending a request to hello@stellanovapsych.com. Please note that opting out of marketing communications will not affect transactional or service-related emails, such as appointment scheduling or billing notices.
Do We Disclose the Information We Collect to Outside Parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice, except as described below.
Disclosure of Your Personal Information:
We may share your Personal Information with the parties set out below, and, where required, only pursuant to a Business Associate Agreement:
- To our subsidiaries and affiliates;
- To contractors, service providers and other third parties we use to support our business;
- Professional advisers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers;
- Government bodies that require us to report processing activities;
- Courts, tribunals, regulatory authorities, and law enforcement officers, as required by law and where not subject to legal privilege protections.
- Debt collectors;
- To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of the Company’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation or similar proceeding, in which Personal Information held by the Company about our Site users is among the assets transferred. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any parties who acquire us may continue to use your Personal Information according to this Privacy Policy;
- To any other entity in order to fulfill the purpose for which you provide your Personal Information; or
- With your consent.
We require all third parties to whom we transfer your data to respect the security of your Personal Information and to treat it in accordance with the law. We only allow such third parties to process your Personal Information for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.
We may disclose aggregated, anonymized, statistical data and/or non-identifying information about our users without restriction.
How Do We Use Your Information?
We may use the information we collect from you in the following ways:
- To enable you to access and use our Site;
- To personalize your Site experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested;
- To contact you and/or allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests;

Visitors who register or participate in other site features such as marketing programs will be given a choice whether they would like to be on our email list and receive e-mail communications from us.
California “Shine the Light” Data Disclosure
If you are a California resident, you have the right to request information from us regarding the manner in which we share certain categories of your Personal Information with third parties for their own direct marketing uses. California’s “Shine the Light” Act provides that you have the right to submit a request to us at our email address in order to receive information on the categories of customer information that we shared and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared customer information for the immediately prior calendar year.
To obtain this information, please send an email message to hello@stellanovapsych.com with “Request for California Privacy Information” in the subject line and in the body of your message. We will provide the requested information to you in your email address in response.
Please be aware that not all information sharing is covered by the Shine the Light requirements, and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response.
Data Security
We have put in place security measures to prevent your Personal Information from being accidentally lost, used, altered, disclosed, or accessed without authorization. We also allow access to your Personal Information only to those employees and partners who have a business need to know such data. They will only process your Personal Information on our instructions and they must keep it confidential. We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected Personal Information data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach if we are legally required to.
Data Retention
We will only retain your Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When deciding what the correct time is to keep the data for we look at its amount, nature and sensitivity, potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the processing purposes, if these can be achieved by other means and legal requirements.
How Do We Protect Visitor Information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. When you access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive/credit information you may supply is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our databases to be only accessed as stated above.
The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Information transmitted to our Site. Any transmission of Personal Information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site.

In an attempt to provide you with increased value, we may include third party links on our site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We, therefore, have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).
Your Access to and Control Over Information
To modify your email subscriptions, you can find an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email. Please note that due to email production schedules you may receive any emails already in production. Please note that we may maintain information about an individual sales transaction in order to service that transaction and for record keeping.
If you believe that any information we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, contact us. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:
- See what data we have about you, if any.
- Change/correct any data we have about you.
- Have us delete any data we have about you.
- Express any concern you have about our use of your data.
Please note: We cannot delete some of your Personal Information except by also deleting any associated client/user accounts. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or regulatory requirement, result in fraud, or cause the information to be incorrect.
Changes to Our Policy
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page. Policy changes will apply only to information collected after the date of the change. The date the Privacy Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for periodically visiting our Site and this Privacy Policy to check for any changes.
